In order to enhance its successful track record of commercializing university research, the University of Limerick (UL) has obtained funding from the Higher Education Authority. UL is dedicated to launching an extensive training program suite to support researchers in developing entrepreneurial skills. To deliver this innovative pre-commercialization program exclusively tailored for researchers, the University has chosen Alinea, a renowned expert in program design and delivery.
The Evolve program, designed by Alinea, aims to provide researchers with valuable insights and practical guidance on strategies to explore and unlock the commercial potential of their research findings and innovative ideas. The ultimate goal is to transform these ideas into viable products, services, or processes that can have a significant commercial impact by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources required to navigate the complex commercialization landscape effectively and efficiently. By doing so, they can maximize the societal benefits derived from their research endeavors.
As part of the program, participants completed an application to Enterprise Ireland for a Commercialization Fund Feasibility Grant. This grant will provide next-stage development support, further advancing their research projects towards successful commercialization. The Evolve program serves as a catalyst for researchers at UL, enabling them to leverage their expertise and drive economic growth through the commercialization of their innovative ideas.
